Not if it is done properly. Heat damage happens through too-high temperatures, too many passes, and pressing hair that was not conditioned or protected first. We keep the iron as cool as the hair allows and work in as few passes as possible. If your hair has existing heat damage, we will tell you what we are seeing and what it will take to grow it out.

Can you colour natural hair without wrecking it?

Yes, with bond protection in the formula and realistic expectations about how far we lift in one session. Big lifts on tight curl patterns are done in stages, not forced in a single appointment. We will tell you honestly how many visits your goal shade needs and what the aftercare looks like. If your hair is not strong enough for the lift you want, we will say so.
