We take a thin, clean section of your own hair and sandwich it between two pre-taped wefts so the panel lies flat against your head instead of sitting on top of it. Most half heads are done inside an hour and a full head rarely takes two. There is no braiding, no thread and no heat touching your hair, which is why fine and color-treated hair tolerates this method so well.
Flat is the whole point. A tape panel is about a millimeter thick, so it disappears under hair that would show a sew-in track or a hand-tied row immediately. How long do tape-in extensions last?
Six to eight weeks for most people, sooner if your hair grows fast or your scalp runs oily. Waiting longer lets the panels rotate away from the head and put weight on the root, which is where slipping and breakage start. We schedule the move-up the day of your install so it never sneaks up on you.
Can I reuse the same hair?
Usually two or three times, sometimes more if the hair is good quality and you have kept oil off the tape. We remove it with a proper solvent, wash and re-tape it, and reinstall. If the ends have gotten thin we will tell you it is time for new hair instead of charging you to reinstall something that will not look right.
Will the tape slip or show?
Not if the products near it behave. Oil, coconut-based conditioner and heavy silicone are what break the adhesive down. Keep conditioner from mid-length to ends, shampoo at the scalp, and skip dry shampoo at the roots. Placed correctly, the panels sit below your part line and stay invisible even in a high ponytail.
Is my hair too fine or too thin for tape-ins?
Fine hair is what this method is best at, since the panel is flatter than any other install. Genuinely sparse hair is the limit, because each panel still needs a section of your own hair strong enough to hold it.
